This October, the Best of Africa Awards returns, an invitation-only evening honoring the individuals and organizations turning success into service.
It has been this way since 2011. What began as a single evening in London has grown into one of the most distinctive celebrations of African-owned philanthropy anywhere in the UK, not by rewarding achievement alone, but by recognizing achievement matched by generosity.
A Legacy Fifteen Years in the Making
BOA was founded on a simple belief: that success carries further when it’s shared. Since our first ceremony, we’ve brought together honorees whose stories span continents, athletes who built academies, artists who opened doors for the next generation, entrepreneurs who reinvested in the communities that shaped them.
Fifteen years on, that belief hasn’t changed. What has changed is the reach. Voices like Chris Hughton, Akala, Wilfred Zaha, Eniola Aluko, Luol Deng, and Diamond Platnumz have stood alongside us, proof that the platform BOA set out to build in 2011 has become exactly that: a platform.
What BOA 2026 Will Celebrate
Every edition of BOA is built around four pillars: Sports, Entertainment, Entrepreneurship, and Media, the fields where we’ve consistently found African excellence paired with African generosity. Together, they let us examine and exhibit something harder to capture in a single category: the spirit of Ubuntu in African philanthropy, the idea that success is only fully realized when it lifts others with it.
BOA 2026 will honour that spirit once again, in an intimate, invitation-only setting designed for exactly the kind of connection that spirit deserves.
An Evening Built on Purpose, Not Spectacle
BOA has never been a red-carpet event for its own sake. It’s a gathering, of people who’ve built something, and people who want to help others do the same. That’s as true of our honorees as it is of the organizations who stand behind them.
If your organisation shares that commitment to purpose-driven excellence, we’d welcome you to explore what partnering with BOA 2026 looks like.
